Coaching Formats:​

We offer three formats:

​

1) A six-session series that runs over a 3-month period; 30 - 60 minute sessions every 1 or 2 weeks

2) A single, 1-hour "Micro-session"*

3) Hybrid packages: Combine coaching with separate learning sessions and/or lab testing

 

*Lasting success in health behavioral change is best achieved in a 3-month coaching series. However, a Micro-session is useful for trying out the coaching process or adding a new health goal to a prior coaching series.

Health & Well-Being Coaching

Experience a 1:1 client/coach partnership that empowers you to make healthy choices and live a balanced life. This partnership supports you in fulfilling your health vision.

Led by Dr. David Cistola, a Duke University-Trained and Certified Health & Well-Being Coach. He and other Duke-Certified Coaches support MetabolismSpectrum clients.

What health & well-being coaching is:

Coaching is a forward-looking process that guides and support you in setting and achieving your own health goals.

​

We employ the Duke Health & Well-Being Coaching Process Model, which guides you through a series of steps:​

  • creating an optimal health vision aligned with your values

  • assessing your current health and choosing an area to focus on

  • exploring your readiness to change

  • setting SMART goals and weekly action steps

  • preparing for action

  • recognizing successes and learning from setbacks

  • determining next action steps

  • maintaining behavioral change

As metabolic health hinges on daily lifestyle choices and behaviors, health & well-being coaching is a uniquely powerful way to boost your metabolism, energy and performance!

What health & well-being coaching is NOT:

​

  • Coaching is not professional counseling, which tends to look back in time to diagnose and treat psychological issues.

  • Coaching is not medical diagnosis or treatment​.

  • Coaching is not education per se. During each session, the coach does not educate you on specific health matters.*

*Separate from coaching, we offer education and learning support (see LEARNING). Coaching and learning sessions can be interleaved at the request of the client or as part of a hybrid package that includes health coaching, metabolism consulting, and lab testing.
